Planning early in Cleveland

Preparation for Operation Inasmuch in Cleveland County began in February with an On-Mission training fair at Elizabeth Baptist Church. According to county coordinator David Brown, training was given in areas such as construction, first aid and how to share one’s faith. To read more about the training event, click this link:

On April 1, a Share and Prayer rally will be held with all the participating Operation Inasmuch teams. Brown said there is much enthusiasm in Cleveland County as they get ready for the big day. Twenty-four churches are scheduled to participate April 19. Elizabeth Baptist will lead field day events for the Special Olympics, bake items for service organizations, pressure wash and paint outdoor furniture at a Hospice facility and make prayer shawls.

Zoar Baptist Church will build handrails and wheelchair ramps, assemble care baskets for cancer patients, deliver baked goods to local fire departments and police departments and provide child care for volunteers. Camps Creek Baptist Church will serve with a health fair and provide a car care team for senior adults. Eastside Baptist Church will have children’s groups make flower baskets to welcome new church families and the youth group will do yard work for a former pastor. Members of Zion Baptist Church will lead Backyard Bible Clubs and visit nursing home residents.

Other Cleveland County churches participating are Hoppers Chapel Missionary Baptist, New Prospect Baptist, Second Baptist, Pleasant Grove Baptist, Peoples Baptist, Calvary Baptist and Mt. Sinai Baptist.
